South Africa Carnival Experience

Johannesburg & Cape Town, South Africa

March 8 – 16, 2021

Join us for a cultured 8 night experience in South Africa, as we tour Johannesburg and Cape Town, experience Carnival and enjoy the culture, the food and great company.

Itinerary is as follows:

• 8 March: Depart the US, guests from the West Coast may need to leave a day earlier (flights from US are not included)
• 9 March: Arrive in Johannesburg, Private Transfers to hotel Sandton Sun Johannesburg.  Check in to Executive Rooms on 3/9 for 2 nights; Check out on 3/11.  Daily breakfast included.
• 10 March:  Full Day Bespoke City Tour – visit notable places in Johannesburg, with lunch included.
• 11 March: After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at the hotel to take you to the airport where you will fly to Cape Town.  When you land, transportation will pick you up from Cape Town and take you to the Table Bay hotel.  Check in on 3/11 for 5 nights; Check out on 3/16.  Daily Breakfast included.
• 12 March: Half Day City Tour including Table Mountain, group dinner that evening at local restaurant that has interactive drumming experience and is a lot of fun.
• 13 March: Cape Town Carnival, Hospitality Tickets and roundtrip transportation from hotel to Carnival included.
• 14 March: On your own to explore Cape Town
• 15 March: Full Day Safari from Cape Town, lunch included
• 16 March: Private transfers to the airport

• 2 nights at the Sandton Sun Hotel in Sandton Johannesburg
• One-way flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town (baggage fees not included)
• 5 nights at the Table Bay hotel in Cape Town
• All activities as listed in the itinerary, to include entry fees and transportation
• Meals where noted

What’s Not Included:

• Your flight from the States to Johannesburg (make sure you arrive March 9, 2021) and your returning flight from Cape Town on March 16, 2021
• Tips/gratuities for housekeeping,  waitstaff, guides or drivers
• Transportation outside of what is listed above
• Meals outside of what is listed above
• Additional excursions

This package is land and airfare in Africa only.  No airfare from the US to Africa is included.

We know it’s helpful to have some flexibility when traveling, so we aren’t locking you in to airfare from the US in your package.

This frees you up to use points, miles, gift cards etc. with an airline that you would like to use towards your airfare to South Africa, and customize the flight plan that works best for you!

I’m happy to help you find your flights as well, for an additional charge of $25/ticket – you will need to be prepared to pay the service fee as well as the full cost of the ticket at the time of the search to secure your reservation.  Please note that flight schedules will be available April 13, 2020.

Trip Insurance

Trip insurance for this package is offered to provide some level of protection in the unforeseen circumstance of a medical emergency while traveling and to protect your vacation investment. It also reimburses nonrefundable payments, less the cost of insurance, if you must cancel or interrupt your trip due to an illness, injury, job loss or death.  If you need to cancel for another reason, you will receive 50% back of funds paid if optional coverage for CANCEL ANY REASON is selected*, less the cost of the insurance and the Cultured Vacations cancellation fee of $50/person.

If elected, trip insurance must be paid at the time of deposit, and starts at $199/person (cost based on age and variety of factors).  To get a quote and purchase travel insurance click the link at the bottom of the page.

*Except for New York and Pennsylvania residents.

Important Information

You will need to have a passport to travel to South Africa, and it must be valid for six months after you return from the trip.  If your passport is due to expire before September 20, 2021, you will need to renew it before traveling. Failure to do so may prevent you from traveling or entering back into the States — neither is a good look!

Let’s Talk Reservations & Payments

Making reservations for this package signifies your acceptance of our Terms and Conditions.  The deposit per traveler is a non-refundable payment of $400/person.

Reservations must be made with your full government name and birth dates as they appear on your passport.  Any changes to the information provided will result in a change fee of $50/person.  We aren’t able to make changes to roommates, your name and birthdates after August 1, 2020.

Prices are subject to change without notice. A deposit is the only way to lock in rates.

If you are electing to room with someone (double occupancy), both of you must pay your initial deposits at the same time in order for the rates and reservation to be guaranteed.  If one of the roommates is no longer able to attend, the remaining traveler is responsible for finding a roommate by August 1, 2020 OR they will need to cover the entire portion of the room, taxes and fees once reservation turns to single occupancy.

You may choose to make payments as often as you’d like!  Simply complete a payment via your dedicated invoice link and payments will be processed automatically.  Once initially set up, you may go into your invoice at any time and make additional payments.  When you (and your roommate) are ready to make your deposits, please complete your details at the link below.
